Dr. Mariaelena Bartesaghi
Assistant Professor
Communication

Mariaelena Bartesaghi received her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School in 2004, and has held a Critical Writing Fellowship through the departments of History and Sociology of Science and Health and Societies before coming to USF.  Her research focuses on the role of language and discourse as social practice in health institutions, connecting authority in interpersonal relationships to patterns of institutional and social authority. Dr. Bartesaghi has taught at both graduate and undergraduate levels in the U.S. and abroad, and has published in communication, critical inquiry and psychotherapy journals.

Dr. Pratyusha Basu
Assistant Professor
Geography
Dr. Basu’s research interests include rural economies, environmental movements, and gender issues. Her specific focus is rural development and agrarian politics in India, and her dissertation compared two village-level dairy cooperatives. Its aim was to provide a deeper understanding of the success of India's dairy development program.  She also works with the Narmada Bachao Andolan (Movement to Save the Narmada River), an anti-dam movement in India, which has questioned the displacement caused by dams and the increasing corporatization of rural resources.

Mr. Eric Beauregard
Assistant Professor
Criminology
Eric Beauregard is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Criminology.  He completed his Ph.D. in 2005 at the School of Criminology, University of Montreal.  While completing his dissertation on the hunting patterns of serial sex offenders, Dr. Beauregard was also working for the Correctional Service of Canada where he was responsible for the assessment of sexual preferences of sex offenders.  His research interests focus on sex offenders, offending patterns of criminals and offender profiling.  He is the co-editor of a published book on sexual homicide and he is currently working on a book dealing with the comparison between sex murderers and rapists.

Dr. Case Boterbloem
Associate Professor
History
Case Boterbloem was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands. He received a BA and MA from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD from McGill University in 1994. He taught for eleven years at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, before coming to USF as an Associate Professor. At Nipissing, he was the single recipient of the university's Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2000. In 1999 and 2004, Boterbloem published two books, both on the history of Russia/the Soviet Union, with McGill-Queen's University Press.

Dr. Jennifer Collins
Assistant Professor
Geography

Jennifer is from the United Kingdom, just north of London.  She participated in a student exchange program in 1995 which allowed her to study in the United States.  She has not only been a student in both countries, but has also taught at universities in both countries.  Her research concentrates on hurricanes and this is one of the draws to her for living in Tampa.  With another forecasted active hurricane season, Jennifer hopes to obtain much up-to-date material for her teaching and research.  As well as her love for hurricanes, Jennifer enjoys traveling and new experiences.

Dr. Kelly Crain
Assistant Professor
Communication Science
and Disorders
Kelly Lamar Crain comes to USF from Washington, DC where he worked as a Research Associate at Gallaudet University, the world’s only Liberal Arts University for the Deaf. Kelly’s research interests focus on the behavioral manifestations of phonological awareness exhibited by Deaf individuals from a variety of communication backgrounds, and the interaction between traditionally spoken languages and signed languages. At USF, Kelly will lead the 2-yr M.A. program in Deaf Education in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Dr. Sara Crawley
Assistant Professor
Women's Studies
Dr. Sara Crawley's research and teaching specialties are in gender and sexualities, in particular topics related to the production and social organization of gendered and sexual identities, feminist gender theory, social inequalities, qualitative methods and social psychology. She has published in Gender & Society and Journal of Contemporary Ethnography and is currently coauthoring a book entitled Gendering the Body. Dr. Crawley has co-authored with K.L. Broad, University of Florida, and Lara Foley, University of Tulsa an article in The Sociological Quarterly entitled, “Doing Family Values: Social Movement Framing, Discourse, and Interpretive Practice.”

Dr. Stephen Deban
Assistant Professor
Biology
Dr. Deban's research interests lie in the areas of physiology and biomechanics. The comparative evolutionary approach is central to his work. He uses studies of vertebrates, mainly amphibians and reptiles, to understand the biological mechanisms underlying behavior and physiological performance, and how these organismal attributes are integrated across levels of biological organization.

Ms. Tasha Dubriwny
Assistant Professor
Communication
Dr. Dubriwny finished her Ph.D. in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia this August and joins the Department of Communication as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Dubriwny has published extensively on the subjects of feminist rhetoric and health communication. Her work has appeared in such journals as Public Understanding of Science, Women’s Studies in Communication, and Community Genetics. Dr. Dubriwny plans on using USF’s extensive resources in the medical and health fields to continue her research on postpartum disorders, including running focus groups with women with postpartum depression and analyzing popular texts such as television news and memoirs.

Mr. Eric Duke
Assistant Professor
Africana Studies
Eric D. Duke joins us from Michigan State University where he will receive his PhD in Comparative Black History in December 2005.  Eric specializes in twentieth-century African American, Caribbean, and Black Diaspora History, with particular focus on the overlapping and interconnected histories of these areas.  He is especially interested in issues of “race and nation”, identity construction, Black nation-building, and Black internationalism. His dissertation “Seeing Race, Seeing Nation: Conceptualizing a ‘United West Indies’ in the British Caribbean and Diaspora”, examines how Caribbean peoples living in the West Indies, United States, and United Kingdom, as well as African American and Pan-African activists on both sides of the Atlantic, envisioned and debated federation from the beginning of the 20th century to the onset of British Caribbean independence in the early 1960s. Eric also has a family that crosses national boundaries: the United States and Jamaica.

Dr. Lorie Fridell
Associate Professor
Criminology
Dr. Lorie Fridell has joined the faculty in Criminology at USF. She previously taught at both the University of Nebraska and Florida State University.  At those institutions she received five university-level teaching awards.  She left academia in 1999 to serve as the Director of Research at the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), a non-profit agency in Washington, D.C. dedicated to improving domestic law enforcement.  During the 15 years that Dr. Fridell has been conducting research on law enforcement, she has written books/monographs, chapters and articles on such topics as use of force, complaints against police, violence against police, and community policing.  Additionally, she is a national expert on racial profiling.

Dr. Colin Heydt
Assistant Professor
Philosophy
Colin Heydt grew up on the Jersey shore (Neptune, NJ). He attended Swarthmore College, where he took a degree in philosophy (with a literature minor) after having discovered that he preferred reading Aristotle to working in genetics and cell biology labs. This eventually propelled him to graduate school in philosophy (Boston University). He joins USF from Boston College--realizing his desire not to leave the Big East Conference.

Dr. David Johnson
Assistant Professor
History
David Johnson received his B.A. in history from Georgetown and his Ph.D. in history from Northwestern. His research fields include 20th century U.S., the Cold War, gender and sexuality. Prof. Johnson has held research fellowships at the Smithsonian Institution, the Social Science Research Council, and CUNY's Center for Gay and Lesbian Studies. His book, The Lavender Scare: The Cold War Persecution of Gays and Lesbians in the Federal Government has been awarded both the Herbert Hoover book award in U.S.history and the Randy Shilts award in gay non-fiction. A native of New Hampshire and veteran of 10 Chicago winters, he is thrilled to be in Florida.

Dr. Shayne Jones

Criminology
Dr. Shayne Jones completed his graduate training at the University of Kentucky in 2003, and served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh the following two years.  Much of his research draws from a social psychological framework, specifically exploring how individual differences (e.g., personality) are mediated and moderated by social/contextual factors (e.g., school, neighborhood).  He is also interested in the construct of psychopathy, especially as it applies to children and adolescents.

Ms. Julie Langford-Johnson
Assistant Professor
History
Julie Langford-Johnson joins us from Bloomington, Indiana where she recently completed her Ph.D. in Classical Studies. Her research interests fall under the broad rubric of identity formation in the Roman Empire, especially in regard to gender, ethnicity and religion. Last summer Prof. Langford-Johnson studied archaeology at the American Academy in Rome and dug on the NE slope of the Palatine in Rome and on Monte Polizzo in Sicily. She has also studied Roman coinage at the American Numismatic Society in New York City and medieval paleography at the University of Notre Dame. This semester she will teach an introductory course in Roman history and a seminar on Roman Imperial Ideology.

Dr. Alexander Levine

Philosophy
After completing his secondary education in Berlin, Germany, Alex Levine moved to the United States to attend Reed College. He continued his studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of California at San Diego, receiving his Ph.D. in philosophy from the latter in 1994. Before joining the USF faculty, he taught philosophy at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, and at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. His published scholarship includes contributions to the philosophy of biology, philosophy of mathematics, and philosophy of mind. He has also published several scholarly translations.

Dr. Nathan Maxfield

Dr. Nathan Maxfield joins the faculty in Communication Sciences & Disorders after completing his degree in the Department of Speech & Heairng Sciences at the Graduate School of the City Univeristy of New York this past year. Steven C. Roach received his Ph.D. in International Studies from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Before joining the faculty at the University of South Florida, he was lecturer at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he taught on nationalism, human rights, and international law. His research interests focus on the politics of international law, human rights and international security, and critical international theory.  Dr. Roach is the author of The International Criminal Court, Ethics, and Global Justice: The Politics of Criminalizing Violence (forthcoming), Cultural Autonomy, Minority Rights and Globalization, and editor of Critical Theory and World Society: A Reader (forthcoming). His articles have appeared in numerous high-profile, peer-reviewed journals, including Political Studies, International Studies Perspectives, The International Journal of Human Rights, and International Politics.

M. Scott Solomon is assistant professor of Government and International Affairs at the University of South Florida (USF) and research fellow at the University of  South Florida Globalization Research Center. His research interests include globalization, migration, and international political economy. Before joining USF he taught at the Graduate Program in International Affairs at New School University and the Global Studies Graduate Program at New York University, and served as director of New School University’s International Fieldwork Program in Hong Kong. After receiving his Ph.D. from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University he served as the Lingnan Foundation Teaching Scholar at Lingnan University, Hong Kong's liberal arts university. He is the co-author, with Mark Rupert, of Globalization and International Political Economy: The Politics of Alternative Futures (Rowman & Littlefield, 2005) and "Historical Materialism, Ideology, and the Politics of Globalizing Capitalism" in Historical Materialism and Globalization, edited by Mark Rupert and Hazel Smith. He has also authored several articles for the Routledge Encyclopedia of International Political Economy.

Dr. Elizabeth Strom

Before joining the USF Department of Geography, Dr. Strom was Associate Professor of Political Science at Rutgers University-Newark. Dr. Strom’s past research has analyzed urban planning decisions in Berlin after Germany’s reunification as well as the economic development challenges facing the industrial cities of the United States.  Results of her Berlin research have been published in Building the New Berlin: The Politics of Urban Development in Germany’s Capital, published by Lexington Books in 2001. Her current work examines cities that have developed cultural facilities as part of their downtown revitalization strategies. Her work has been funded by the National Endowment of the Humanities, the Fulbright Program, and the Social Science Research Council, and been published in the Journal of Urban Affairs,  Urban Affairs Review, the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, German Politics and Society, and European Urban and Regional Research, and Review of Policy Research.

Christopher J. Sullivan recently completed his doctorate at Rutgers University, School of Criminal Justice.   His research interests include the relationship between crime, substance use, and mental illness; juvenile delinquency; and research methodology and analytic methods.  His doctoral dissertation dealt with the longitudinal influence of childhood emotional and behavioral problems on adolescent delinquency.  Recent and upcoming publications appear in the International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Sciences & the Law.

Professor Williams specializes in medieval philosophy, especially Augustine, Anselm, Aquinas, and Duns Scotus, and the philosophy of religion. He has also written on Plato, Jane Austen, and the ethics of lying and deception. In 2005-06 he will be the Alvin Planting a Fellow in the Center for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Notre Dame, where he will be working on a book on the philosophy and theology of Saint Anselm (1033-1109) for the Great Medieval Thinkers Series from Oxford University Press.

Tamara Zwick received her Ph.D. in European History from the University of California at Los Angeles. Her research interests include 19th century Germany, gender and kinship ties, Holocaust historiography, and feminist theory. Her dissertation on women, kinship and class identity in nineteenth-century Hamburg won the Mary Wollstonecraft Dissertation prize at UCLA. She has held fellowships from the German Academic Exchange, among others, and was most recently Visiting Assistant Professor of Global and Women's History at James Madison University.

Jeannie Kleinhammer-Tramill joins USF as a Professor in the Department of Special Education. Prior to joining the USF faculty, Dr. Kleinhammer-Tramill was an Associate Research Professor of Special Education at the University of Kansas. Her scholarship focuses on special education policy, including the role of federal and state support for personnel preparation in special education. Kleinhammer-Tramill has published extensively in the areas of state policies impacting personnel preparation for transition and historical analyses of federal policy. She has written and directed more than 30 federal grants including the current research grant, Factors that Influence Schools' AYP Status for Students with Disabilities as a Subgroup.

Michael Matthews joins USF as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education. Matthews received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in gifted and creative education from the University of Georgia in 2002. Dr. Matthews has recently completed a postdoctoral appointment as Research Fellow with the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) where he was involved in the coordination of above-level testing and provided educational programs and materials for highly able students in grades 4-11 across a 16-state region that includes Florida. In addition to currently serving as a reviewer for the Gifted Child Quarterly, the Journal for the Education of the Gifted, the Journal of Chemical Education, and the Journal of Secondary Gifted Education, Dr. Matthews is the incoming program chair for the AERA SIG-Research on Giftedness and Talent.

Dr. Steve Sanders is a Professor and Director of the School of Physical Education, Wellness, and Sports Studies at the University of South Florida. The School has academic units in Physical Education Teacher Education, Exercise Science, and Athletic Training. Dr. Sanders is closely involved with teacher preparation programs working to prepare teachers to assist children in becoming physically active for a lifetime. He has taught and promoted the concept of being physically active for life throughout his career while working with all age levels from university students to infant/parent and toddler movement classes, to teaching preschool, elementary, and high school physical education. Dr. Sanders is author of the Books “Designing Preschool Movement Programs (1992),” and “Active for Life: Developmentally Appropriate Movement Programs for Young Children (NAEYC, 2002),” along with over one hundred scholarly papers. Steve is the editor of the Preschool Section for PE Central, a nationally acclaimed physical education website, www.pecentral.org, and on the advisory boards of PBS TeacherSource, a website to assist teachers and parents to use PBS resources to enhance learning, and Sesame Workshop Healthy Habits for Life, an initiative to promote healthy nutritional and physical activity habits.

He has published in refereed journals on both areas. He has been working on a project called Math Thread, which aims to improve web-based college mathematics courses. He has worked in Hollywood developing computer graphics software for such shows as Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories". Glenn has also worked At Boeing Computer Services developing a large engineering graphics software package. He comes to us from the Department of Technology & Society within the College of Engineering at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Stephen J. Thornton was born in Australia where he received undergraduate and graduate degrees in history.  His doctoral dissertation completed at Stanford University, "Curriculum Consonance in United States History Classrooms," received the outstanding American dissertation of the year in curriculum from the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He has lectured widely in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. His scholarly interests center on how teachers act as curricular-instructional gatekeepers translating the formal curriculum into instructional programs for their particular classrooms. He is currently writing a book on geography in American curricula. He has chaired both the American Educational Research Association's Special Interest Group on research in social studies education and the College and University Faculty Assembly of the National Council for the Social Studies. Professor Thornton comes to us from the Teachers College where he spent the last fifteen years.

Pradeep Vanguri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education, Wellness, and Sport Studies at the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL). He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from East Carolina University (Greenville, NC) in Exercise Science and his Master of Science Degree from North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC). Upon completing his graduate work he served as Assistant Professor and Assistant Athletic Trainer at Barton College (Wilson, NC) in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies. He recently completed his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Department of Instructional Leadership at The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL) where he also served as graduate assistant in the undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program. His Doctoral Dissertation was entitled “The Acquisition of Instructional Strategies through a Four-Session Clinical Instructor Workshop Incorporating Online Discussion Boards,” which investigated the workshop development and implementation. His current research interests include faculty development, instructional technology, pedagogy, and clinical instruction.

Alex Domijan obtained his B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Miami, M.E. degree in electric power engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a member of the electrical engineering faculty at the University of Florida and director of the Florida Power Affiliates and Power Quality Laboratory since 1987. He joined the faculty of the University of South Florida as a Professor of Electrical Engineering in 2005. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Power and Energy Systems, and Chair of many international conferences on energy systems. His research areas are Power Quality, Electricity Metering, Flexible AC Transmission Systems, Demand Response, Power System Reliability, Custom Power, Power Electronics and Motor Drive Systems, and FRIENDS (Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent Electrical eNergy Delivery Systems).

Dr. Richard Klein joined the Department of Surgery in June 2005 as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  Dr. Klein completed his medical degree and his masters of public health degree at Tufts University. He completed his Internship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and his Residencies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Michigan School of Medicine.  Dr. Klein completed a fellowship at Plastic Surgery Associates, P.C. in McLean, Virginia. He is board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  His research interests include wound healing, new approaches to endoscopic surgery, maxillofacial trauma and development of hands on advanced computerized educations models.

Dr. Andreas G. Seyfang

Dr. Andreas Seyfang graduated from the University of Tübingen, Germany, with a B.Sc. in Biology (1983), a M.Sc. in Zoology/Parasitology (1989) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1993, magna cum laude). Other academic training and positions include Duke University, Durham (exchange, 1984-85), University of Bordeaux, France (postdoc, 1993-95), Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland (postdoc, 1995-99), and Medical College of Georgia, Augusta (assistant professor, 1999-2005). Dr. Seyfang conducts research in molecular parasitology/microbiology and protein biochemistry. His laboratory studies membrane transport in opportunistic microbial pathogens (trypanosomes, Candida, mycobacteria) and the human brain. Dr. Seyfang’s research is funded by NIH and the American Heart Association. His hobbies include classical music, Egyptology and bird watching.

He is a member of several professional societies including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the International Liver Transplant Society and the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Wheeler is a recognized educator and the President-Elect of Group for Research in Pathology Education in Pathology, a national organization of pathology course director from several national and international medical schools.

Dr. Kathleen O’Rourke has joined us as from the Medical University Health of South Carolina. Dr. O’Rourke’s areas of research interests are prenatal epidemiology and health disparities in maternal and newborn outcomes, immigrant issues, and adolescent pregnancy with a focus on program evaluation. She is also the Research Director at the Lawton and Rhea Center for Health Mothers and Babies. Currently, she is focused on factors associated with unintended pregnancy among the U.S. military populations and the health promotion campaign among Hispanic and African-American women. Dr. O’Rourke continues to have a strong interest in community-based projects and the application of epidemiological principles in communities.

Dr. Amy Stuart joined the faculty of Environmental & Occupational Health as an Assistant Professor in January. Dr. Stuart has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. To support her graduate work, she was awarded nationally competitive fellowships from both the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency STAR Program. Dr. Stuart comes to USF with professional experience as an air quality engineering consultant with Environ Corporation and as a postdoctoral fellow hosted jointly by the Institute for International Studies and the Geological and Environmental Sciences program at Stanford. She comes to us most recently from the Atmospheric Sciences Department of Texas A&M University. Dr. Stuart¹s research interests focus on pollutant transformation and transport in the atmosphere and the effects of these processes on human health and the environment. Some areas of study include cloud ice chemistry, air quality in developing countries, air quality and climate change interactions, and emergency releases of toxic materials. At USF she will teach and develop classes focused on air pollution and environmental health topics. During her personal time, Dr. Stuart enjoys playing with her two daughters, reading, being out in nature, and provocative socio-political discussions.

Dr. Tao Wang joins us from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Wang’s research interests lie in the general fields of statistical genomics, bioinformatics, and statistical computation. He has been involved in the design and analysis of micro array gene expression data, for both cDNA and high-density oligonucleotide micro array. He is currently working on a breast cancer study using micro array technology to identify the signature genes predictive of different risk groups and is developing an R package “Multi-Array” for micro array analysis implementing probe-level modeling and multiplicity-adjusted inferences.

With more than a dozen exhibitions of his artwork since his graduation from the University of Washington, John has already established himself as an emerging artist working with clay. He has had numerous exhibits at Garth Clark Gallery in New York City - the nation's most prestigious ceramic arts gallery. In addition to teaching as a Visiting Professor at USF in 2004, John has taught at Louisiana State University (2002, 2003) and the Kansas City Art Institute (2002).

Assistant Professor Derek Murray, PhD, Cornell, 2005, joins the faculty of the School of Art and Art History (College of Visual and Performing Arts) as a specialist in Art Theory and Criticism. Dr. Murray also holds an MA from California State University in 19th Century Modernist Painting (Art History.) He is a contributor to the Encyclopedia of African-American Culture and History: The Black Experience in the Americas and an art exhibition catalogue for the Dakar Biennial. His article, "Hip-Hop vs. High Art: Notes on Race as Spectacle" was published in the Summer, 2004 edition of Art Journal. He has also published works in NKA: Journal of Contemporary African Art. Dr. Murray will be on a Post Doctoral Fellowship during the 2005-2006 academic year at the University of California, Berkeley.

Ms. Anat Pollack

Assistant Professor Anat Pollack joins the faculty of the School of Art and Art History as a specialist in Electronic Media. Anat brings a varied background in new technology and art to USF - including work in sound, animation, sculpture, photography and interactive web-related arts. With more than 18 exhibitions of her artworks, Anat has received recognition throughout the US. She has developed projects, theatrical and video sets or public artworks and most recently was an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

Mr. Marc Powers
Professor
Theatre & Dance
Marc Powers received his MFA from Pennsylvania State University and his BA from Bucknell University. He began his teaching career with the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, where he served as a master teacher of acting for twelve years. He has held faculty positions at Winthrop University as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance for eight years and at the Ohio State University, coordinating the MFA Acting Program while also serving as Director of the Ohio Governor’s School for the Gifted and Talented in the Arts. He comes to USF from the University of Alabama at Birmingham after five years there as the Chair of the Department of Theatre. Marc has been an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association since 1977. He is also actively involved with the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the Southeastern Theatre Conference for which he is Chair of the College and University Division, and the National Association of Schools of Theatre where he serves as an evaluator.

Ms. Vanessa Estrada

Ms. Estrada is a registered architect from Colombia where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from “Pontificia Universidad Javeriana”, Santa Fe de Bogotá. She also obtained a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida where she worked as a graduate teaching assistant and became an adjunct professor on spring 2004. She possesses over five years of diverse experience in architecture with responsibilities including site planning, design, construction documentation and construction administration. She has been involved with new construction, as well as historical preservation for a variety of building types including commercial, residential, hospitality and institutional. Ms. Estrada has successfully completed the schematic design documents, construction documents and construction administration of several architectural projects. Her client portfolio includes The Sembler Company, Whole Foods Market, Carter, Unicorp, United American Realty Corporation among others. Her research interests include understanding the historical and cultural background of Latin American countries in order to appreciate their architecture, studying the foreign influences in Latin American architecture as well as its influence abroad and compiling significant information and material on contemporary Latin American architecture that can be accessible for both English and/or Spanish speaking public.
